The menu is a written text made with laminated paper  

De Afhaalchinees is an installation of a Chinese takeaway, where in the takeaway bags you find actual Chinese babies, they are real life sculptures made of clay. The title ‘Afhaalchinees’ is in this case taken literally is meant to comment on the adoption industry. In the menu of the restaurant it is explained what it exactly means to buy an Afhaalchinees (adopt a Chinese baby). It explains parts of the histroy, critiques the colonial and supremist narrative of Western adoption and goes into the details of an adoptees life.
